DIED.

At Bayou Chicot, December 22d, 1870, JOHN C. GRIFFITH, aged 51 years, 3 months 
and 2 days.

Mr. Griffith was born and reared in the neighborhood where he died, and his 
death will be deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends and relatives.

He was the father of a large family of sons, all bred, like their lamented 
father, to habits of industry and high integrity. - His best eulogy is that he 
was a good father, a good son, a good husband, and a good citizen. Requiescat in 
pace.
