St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, LA) Sept. 28, 1895, page 3
DIED - GUIDRY - At his residence in Coulee Croche, on Tuesday, September 24, 
1895, at 4 a. m., Benjamin Guidry, aged 57 years.

Mr. Guidry had been ill for the past four months, and his death was not 
entirely unexpected.

He was a whole-souled, generous gentleman, a loving husband and father and a 
kind neighbor, and his demise is a severe loss to the community. He was highly 
esteemed by the people of his neighborhood, and as a token of their regard for 
him they elected him Justice-of-the-Peace in 1892, which office he held at the 
time of his death
