The Opelousas Courier (Opelousas, LA) Sept. 30, 1865, pg. 2
It is a mournful task for us to have to record the untimely death of a young 
man whose future was bright and full of promise.
PLINY D. HARDY died on Thursday last, at half past 5 o'clock P. M., at the age 
of 36 years.
To those who were acquainted with the subject of this article, his death, will 
be the source of sincere regret. To his family it is a terrible blow.

Additional Comments:
Pliny David Hardy was the son of Sibert Hardy and Helena Anne Hamilton. Pliny 
David Hardy married Cora Lastrapes, d/o Theodose Lastrapes and Lise Garrigue 
on 14 Nov. 1852.
