The funeral was held from the late residence of the deceased the following day, with services and interment at Grand Coteau. While Mr. Hargroder had reached the age of 69 years, 3 months and 20 days, he was apparently in the very best of health, hale hearty and rugged. His demise came as an unexpected blow to his many friends in Opelousas where he was well known. He was a member of a prominent family of this and adjoining parishes and always took a prominent part in local affairs. He was rated as one of the best farmers on this country and always made a success of his agricultural work. He leaves a family, many relatives and friends to mourn his untimely demise, and to them The Clarion extends its condolences.
