Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com May 6, 2015, 10:59 am The Opelousas Courier (Opelousas, La.) 1852-1910, December 31, 1859, Image 2 DIED. - At his residence (Eagle Hotel), in this town, on Monday last, 26th instant, Jesse Hayes, aged about 48 years. Mr. Hayes was a native of this Parish, where his whole life was spent. His manners were not attractive to strangers, but he was cordial and kind to his friends, and he has left behind him the remembrance of many good actions to keep green his memory among the living. He was not without faults, but had many virtues. What speaks volumes in his praise is, that they who knew him best, loved him most. May his Savior who knew him better than any mortal could, receive him into his bosom! Additional Comments: NOTE: Jesse Hayes is buried in section 9 of the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 105395993 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/h/hayes5790gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.4 Kb
