Mr. Himel contracted pneumonia, and about a week before his death came he grew so weak the end was looked for at any time. He rallied, however, and was said to be on the road to recovery. His death was a shock. Mr. Himel was 63 years of age. The funeral was held from the family residence on last Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, with services in the Catholic Church and burial in the Catholic cemetery. The members of the local camp, Woodmen of the World, with which organization Mr. Himel was affiliated, attended the funeral in a body. Mr. Himel became a resident of this city about five years ago. He was a wheelwright. He was married twice. By the first union he had several sons and daughters, all grown, who survive. About a year and a half ago he married Mrs. Veillion. His second wife also survives him. source: St. Landry Clarion. (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, January 18, 1918, Page 5, Image 5 CLARION MAKES ERROR IN USING MRS. VEILLION’S NAME In announcing the death of Mr. Ulysse Himel, one of our good citizens, in the last issue of this paper we stated that the deceased was survived by his wife, who was Mrs. Veillion. This was an error, for Mr. Himel had married Mrs. Richard. Mrs. Veillion’s sister The Clarion cheerfully makes this correction, and trusts that no injury has come to Mrs. Veillion’s feeling because of the error. source: St. Landry Clarion.
