St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, January 08, 1910, Image 1

Died. MECHE - A the residence of her daughter, Mrs. O. Carriere, in 
Opelousas, on Sunday, Jan. 2, 1910, at 11 a. m., Mrs. Melessaire Meche, 
relict of the late Wm. C. Johnson, aged 74 years, 5 months and 17 days.

The interment took place in the Catholic cemetery, after solemnization of 
the funeral ritts (sic) in the Catholic church, Monday morning at 11 
o'clock.

This venerable old lady had been a patient sufferer for some time, and the 
end was not unexpected. She has done much good during her long span of life 
on earth, and goes before her Maker prepared to meet final judgment.

The Clarion sympathizes with the bereaved family.

NOTE: Melessaire Meche Johnson is buried at the Saint Landry Catholic Church 
cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.
