(Opelousas, La.) 1917 - 1921, March 20, 1920, Image 5 Died, at his home in Lafayette, on Thursday night, March 12, Mr. J. E. Lalane, after an illness of only five days. He succumbed to double pneumonia. "Joe," as he was familiarly known to his many friends in Washington, having been a former resident of this place, leaves behind him a host of friends to mourn his loss, besides many relatives, including Mrs. W. R. Boudreau and Mrs. D. T. Barland of Cottonport. Interment was made in Cedar Hill cemetery. Among those who accompanied the body from Lafayette were Miss Corin Lalanne, Willie Lalanne and Mr. Lee Rhiel, relatives of the family; also his intimate friends, Mr. Ben Fontenot, Mr. Pefferkorn and Mr. Charlie Lusted. Mrs. George Doerle of New Iberia and Mr. Paul Lalanne of Lake Charles, sister and brother of the deceased also came.
