Miss Olympia Lass, only daughter of Mrs. D. Lass, a well known and highly respected boarding house keeper of this city, died suddenly at her mother's home on last Monday night. Miss Lass was 43 years of age and was the picture of good health up to one hour prior to her death, when she was seized with violent pains. Physicians were summonded, three responding to the call, but when they arrived Miss Lass had practically expired, although they tried everything imaginable to bring her back to life. Miss Lass was a devout Catholic, being a leading member of the Altar Society of the St. Landry Catholic Church. She was the companion of her aged mother and her departure will indeed leave a gloom, never to be effaced at the Lass home. She will be remembered by her many friends and acquaintances as a good Christain and splendid citizen. Her remains were interred a the the Catholic cemetery on Tuesday morning, where Father Engerink spoke feelingly of the splendid character of the dead lady. Additional Comments: Olympia and her mother are both buried in the St. Landry Catholic Church cemetery in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, LA.
