(Vermilionville [i.e. Lafayette], 1865-19??, February 22, 1890, Image 4 Mr. Alphonse Lastrapes, who died last Tuesday evening at his residence near town, was one of our oldest and most esteemed citizens. He had reached the ripe old age of 80 years and 10 months, and was the father of Alphonse G. Lastrapes, of New Orleans, and father-in-law of Judge E. T. Lewis, of this district. His funeral at the Catholic Church, on Wednesday evening, was very largely attended. He led an upright, spotless life, and has doubtless gone to enjoy the reward of the just. - Opelousas Courier.
