This estimable lady was the widow of a gallant Confederate soldier, Capt. Louis Lastrapes, long the Clerk of our District Court, who gave up his noble life for his country 34 years ago on the bloody field of Shiloh. She enjoyed the love and esteem of her neighbors and friends, and her death is mourned by a large circle of acquaintances and numerous relatives.
