St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, November 01, 1890, Image 1
Mrs. Henrietta M. Wackerhagen, a native of New York, widow of Capt. Eliakim 
Littell, died in Opelousas, last Sunday, aged 81 years and 11 months. She was 
a most excellent woman, and had various accomplishments which her modest and 
retiring nature kept from exhibition. Having experienced during a very long 
life, almost the extremes of wealth and poverty, she was never known to 
complain, was always cheerful, and her countenance never showed any traces of 
bitterness. If there be another life, and a reward there for a life well-spent 
here, she has surely received that reward.
