Mr. Loeb has been a resident of Opelousas many years. he was born in Bavaria, Germany, and at an early age came to America. He settled at Woodville, Miss., and afterwards moved to New Orleans, where he kept a large dry goods store on Magazine street. Having invested in St. Landry parish, he moved here just after the war, and resided here ever since. He suffered with sickness several years, and was taken to New Orleans to be treated a short time before his death. He was buried with Masonic honors, by Humble Cottage Lodge No. 19, of which he was a member. He left a widow and several children to mourn his loss.
