(Franklin, Parish of St. Mary, La.) 1889-1931, August 11, 1906, Image 5 DIED. - On Monday morning, August 6, 1906, at 12:30 o'clock a. m., Mrs. Balthazar Martel, at the residence of her son, Mr. J. Sully Martel, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 15 days. thus passes to her reward one of the pure women of earth. She joined the Catholic Church in her early life, and from then until the time her pure spirit took its flight to the God who gave it she always shunned anything that was calculated to bring reproach upon the Church of her choice. She was a noble Christian woman, a patient, loving wife, a tender and indulgent mother, a charming neighbor and faithful friend. This was evidenced by the large crowd that were indeed mourners around her last resting place. May God bless and comfort the bereaved relatives, and help them to be true and meet her in heaven. "Gone, but not forgotten: left this earth to live in heaven."
