DUPREVILLE MECHE SUMMONED BY DEATH

Well Known Merchant of Prairie Basse Dies

Dupreville Meche, son of an influential Creole family, died at his home in 
Prairie Basse of Grand Coteau, on Wednesday morning and was buried in the 
Catholic cemetery at Grand Coteau on Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock.

A large number of the Meche family from this city motored to Grand Coteau on 
Thursday evening to attend the funeral. Among those were A. L. Andrus, E. B. 
Dubuisson, M. L. Swords, Chas. Chachere, H. Lastrapes, Jr.

Mr. Meche was a merchant of Prairie Basse and was well known in that 
section; the deceased had been ill health for sometime and while his death 
was a shock to his many friends and relatives, it was not surprising.

Additional Comments:
Dupreville Meche is buried at the Saint Charles Borromeo Cemetery located in 
Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish, LA.
