A large number of the Meche family from this city motored to Grand Coteau on Thursday evening to attend the funeral. Among those were A. L. Andrus, E. B. Dubuisson, M. L. Swords, Chas. Chachere, H. Lastrapes, Jr. Mr. Meche was a merchant of Prairie Basse and was well known in that section; the deceased had been ill health for sometime and while his death was a shock to his many friends and relatives, it was not surprising.
