St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, August 12, 1893, Image 3

John M. Milsted, one of the old landmarks of Opelousas, died at the residence 
of his son Joseph Milsted, near Opelousas, last Sunday, aged 76 years and 6 
months. His health had not been good for several years, and he spent several 
months in Florida, returning not long since, but it seems got no permanent 
relief. He was a native of Alabama, but came to this parish about half a 
century ago. Peace to his ashes.

NOTE: John M. Milsted is buried at the Myrtle Grove Cemetery located in 
Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, LA.
