Little Angel Gone Above.

The angel of death entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Remi Mornhinveg on last 
Saturday, January 4, at 11:30 a. m., and took to Heaven above their little 
Remi, Junior, aged 3 years, 6 months and 16 days.

Little Remi succumbed to pneumonia, superinduced by a severe attack of 
measles. He made a brave fight for life, and the devoted parents spared no 
pains, and physicians worked faithfully and skilfully to save the young 
life, but the summons came from the chorus of little angels above - and baby 
Remi joined them.

He was a bright, beautiful child, and his lost is a crushing blow to the 
family, to whom the Clarion extends heartfelt condolences.

The interment took place Sunday morning at 11:30 o'clock, in the Catholic 
Cemetery, after solemnization of the funeral rites at the Catholic Church.

It was universal sorrow that the citizens of Opelousas heard of the death of 
little Remi Mornhinveg, Jr., the darling and youngest son of Mr. Remi 
Mornhinveg. The little fellow had only attained the age of three years and 
six months, when the angel of death claimed him at 12:00 noon Saturday. Amid 
relatives and sorrowing friends, the cortege left the family home for the 
Catholic church where impressive and an inspiring sermon was preached. From 
there the remains were taken to the Great White City where, amid a flow of 
tears, aching hearts and fond remembrances of the past, the last sad rites 
were witnesses, with bowed heads and sorrowed hearts as the coffin decsended 
(sic).

The little fellow was afflicted with measles, which, proving to be a severe 
case, ran into pneumonia, hence the fatal result.

NOTE: Remi Mornhinveg, Jr. is buried in section 3 of the Saint Landry Catholic 
Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.
