March 28, 1868, page 2 OBITUARY Departed this life, on the 24th inst., at half past four o'clock P. M., at her residence in the town of Washington, Mrs. Felicia C. Pitre, aged 38 years, wife of Mr. Francois L. Pitre. Kind, affectionate, amiable, generous, a devoted wife, a most tender mother - such was Mrs. Pitre. Twenty-two years of marriage had so entwined her in her husband's affections that her loss is indeed like tearing his heart-strings asunder to mourn her loss. May He who "tempers the wind to the shorn lamb" protect and take under His care those poor little children; and may He inspire the bereaved husband with fortitude to bear up against his loss. We must humbly submit to the decrees of Providence; for, in the language of Job, "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." A FRIEND Washington, March 25, 1868 Additional Comments: Felicia Pitre was the daughter of Charles Pitre, fils and Adele Delphine Josephine Joubert. She was born 14 May 1830. Felicia Pitre married Francois Louis Pitre, son of Louis Francois Pitre and Angelique Bertrand, on 6 Nov. 1846 [Opelousas Ct.
