The remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery, which a large concourse of friends and relatives of the Pitre family gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to the young man, who had all the promises of making a vigorous man. Young Pitre was well known among the school children of Opelousas, where he was attending school. Death came as a great shock to the many friends of the family, as the boy was generally considered very healthy. He was an energetic young man full of life and always willing to lend a helping hand to his fathers interests.
