On Friday night of last week Miss Felicie E. Prevost, beloved aunt of John Desmarais, of Houston, O. C. Bodemuller, Misses Althee and Rita Desmarais, and sister of Mrs. R. E. Bodemuller, all former residents of this city, died at the family residence in New Orleans, at the age of sixty-six years. Miss Prevost will long be remembered as one of Opelousas' noblest women, one always ready to lend a helping hand to the poor and never too tired to do a little charitable work. No one ever went to Miss Prevost for alms and was turned away. For many years the deceased lived in this city and during her stay here she was beloved and respected by all with whom she came in contact. The surviving relatives of the deceased are well known here. Miss Althee Desmarais was for several years one of the most trusted and valuable employees of the Clarion, while Miss Rita Desmasais was for several months a popular employee of the Jacobs News depot Co. The many friends here of the bereaved family deeply sympathize with them in their loss. The funeral ceremonies took place at the St. Stephen's Church, New Orleans, on last Saturday evening at 4:30 o'clock, and interment was private. The remains of the deceased were however, later brought to this city for re- interment. The body arrived on the Frisco Thursday evening, and a large number of friends and relatives followed it to its last resting place in the Catholic cemetery in this city. Additional Comments: NOTE: Felicie E. Prevot was the daughter of Jean Prevot and Victorine Tessa and is buried in the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 143996984 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/p/prevot5635gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
