Henry Rabbit, probably the oldest person in St. Landry, said to be either over one hundred years of age, or very close to it, died here on last Monday morning. Old Henry was a familiar figure around the courthouse, for years, going around begging. He was unable to work for several years past. No one knows the old negroes exact age, but some of the oldest citizens here say that Henry was a man, when they were little tots. He was buried in this city on Tuesday.
