Obituary.

DIED, - At the Convent of the Sacred Heart, in Grand Coteau, on Friday the 
7th inst., Miss Mary Elodie, daughter of Andre N. Robin and Felonise Mayer, 
aged 13 years.

Death in his onward course spares none, the old and young, the sad and gay, 
the beautiful, the lovely, all, must yield to his unrelenting hand. Far be 
it from us to interfere with the grief of fond and tender parents or bid 
them check the tears that flow from grief's mournful eye. For too well, 
indeed, are we aware how severe such a trial must be to them, to see a loved 
and cherished child, in whom their greatest hopes was placed, snatched away 
from them by the cruel and unrelenting hand of Death, and that too, in a 
moment when they least expected it.

Sick for but a short time, she shew in that brief period the resignation of 
an angel, never was she known to complain, but was frequently heard to 
exclaim, "No, I will not complain, I will suffer for the sake of Jesus, my 
Redeemer." Thus ever resigning to the will of her Father, she expired 
without a single pang. Her death is a source of much sorrow, not only to her 
parents but to all who knew her. The universal mildness of her disposition 
drew upon her the love and affection of her companions. Her exemplary 
conduct, the esteem and applause of her teachers. Always obeying, as if 
obedience were a pleasure, she has left an example worthy of imitation.

Elodie, thy unhappy parents mourn thy loss, but go thou receive the reward 
that awaits you. And you kind parents, if aught can console you, let it be 
that thy child is not dead but lives in a happier sphere.
