Arnaudville, La., Nov. 22 -- Louis M. Roger, a successful merchant and planter, passed away at his residence here this morning, and will be interred in the family cemetery at Washington, La., to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Deceased was a prominent Mason, being a member of Lafayette Lodge No. 145, F. and A.M.; Girard Hope R. A. Chapter No. 33, New Iberia, La., James Ray Council, of Opelousas, La., and Commandery of Alexandria, La. Funeral rites will be conducted by the above orders. Thus one more of the few remaining veterans of Captain Charles Tertou's company of St. Martin's Parish has answered the long roll. Entering the army at the age of 17 in Captain Tertou's company, under Major Queyronze, Orleans Guards, which after the decimation at Shiloh, was consolidated with Captain Trepagnier's company, Thirtieth Louisiana, he gave four years of active service and returned home at the close of the war, a veteran of 21.
