Benj. B. Rogers. This eminent citizen departed this life at his residence in Opelousas on Thursday night, June 17, in the 91st year of his age. For many years previous to the late was Col. Rogers was prominent in public St. Landry, but since the close of hostilities he has mostly lived in retirement, though he always took great interest in public matters and a few years ago was clerk of the Supreme Court at Opelousas. He was a gentleman of the old school, courteous as a Chesterfield to the last, and leaves hosts of friends to mourn his not unexpected demise. Peace to his gentle soul.
