Mary Teresa McCormick, wife of Mr. M. J. Rosteet, died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the family resident, 838 Biblo street after a long and lingering illness. Death was caused by cancer of the stomach. The deceased lady was aged 62 years, five months and twenty-six days and was born at Opelousas. She came to Lake Charles in 1872 and was united in marriage to Mr. Rosteet Jan. 26, 1875. Of this union two children - a son and a daughter - were born. The daughter, Miss Margaret Virginia, died last January. The surviving son is Mr. John H. Rosteet. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Husbands of Morgan City and Miss Lizzie McCormick of this city. She was a devoted member of the Catholic church. The funeral takes place at 5 o'clock this evening from the Catholic church, Rev. Father Van de Ven officiating. Interment will be made in Catholic cemetery. - Lake Charles American.
