Opelousas, La., Sept. 8 (AP) — James Sanders, 89, died at noon today at his 
home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning.

He is survived by his widow, the former Bettye Smith of Opelousas; two sons, 
Walter Sanders and David Sanders, a daughter, Ethel Sanders, and two small 
granddaughters, Bettye Julie Sanders and Madge Elaine Sanders, all of 
Opelousas; three brothers, Charles, Jessie and Theo Sanders, all of Eunice, 
La., and three sisters, Mrs. C. Edginand, Mrs. Maggie Vasco, both of Lake 
Charles, La., and Mrs. Laura Burnett of Eunice.
