Died. - SANDOZ. - At her residence, in Opelousas, on Saturday, August 28th, 
1897, Mary Adeline, wife of Walton A. Sandoz, aged 45 years and three 
months.

"In the midst of life we are in death," and the ravages of the grim monster 
ceases not. Every breeze that cools the earth bears on its bosom the last 
sigh of many souls freed from sin and suffering. Mothers, fathers, sisters 
and brothers, all are moving in that great procession whose mighty tread 
beat funeral marches to the grave. The thief and the christian, the clean 
and the unclean are boon companions in death, for the same earth from which 
they sprang serve as their common covering.

In death of Mrs. Sandoz her husband loses a loving wife, her children an 
affectionate mother, and the community a beloved and honored member. 
Charity, tenderness and beautitude were her virtues.

NOTE: Marie Adeline nee Sandoz Sandoz is buried in section 11 of the Saint 
Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, 
Louisiana.
