Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com May 7, 2015, 8:50 pm St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, January 13, 1894, Image 4 Phillip Stagg, a prosperous citizen of this parish and a member of one of our largest and most influential families, died at his residence on Bayou Boeuf, on the 5th inst. He had been an invalid for nearly two years past and his death was not unexpected. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss to whom the Clarion extends its sincere sympathy. He was a member of the State Central Committee from this parish, and his death creates a vacancy which will have to be filled by the Parish Executive Committee. Additional Comments: NOTE: Phillip Stagg is buried in the Dubuisson Cemetery located in Dubuisson, St. Landry Parish, LA.
