Died, at the family residence, on Bayou Teche, near Opelousas, on Tuesday, February 25, 1908, at 8:30 o'clock p. m., Mrs. Eliza Arnaud, wife of Alexis St. Cyr, aged 57 years, 4 months and 4 days. Deceased was a victim of the prevailing malady, grippe, which developed pneumonia. Being a lady of devout Christian attributes, she would not neglect her church duties during the period of grippe, and thus martyred herself to the cause of her God. Interment took place in the Catholic cemetery, after solemnization of the funeral rites at the Catholic Church. The large concourse of friends which followed the remains to their last resting place attested in strong manner the esteem in which the good woman was held in her community. She leaves a loving husband and many sorrowing children, and a large and influential family connection. Her surviving children are: Walter, Antoine, Albert, David, Ellia (wife of Albert Kerr), Elodie (wife of Arthur Kenney), Emma (wife of Emare Carriere), Bebe (wife of Ulysse Rider), and Amalie. Her brothers are Antoine and Pierre Arnaud, and her sisters are Virginia, wife of Alcide St. Cyr, and Clarice, wife of Lucien Robin. The Clarion extends heartfelt condolences to the grieved ones. Additional Comments: Eliza Arnaud St. Cyr is buried in Section 13 of the St. Landry Catholic Church cemetery, located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, LA. www.findagrave memorial #119895614 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/s/stcyr5458gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
