Died in Grand Coteau, October 6th, 1890, Edward Ross Tarlton. Several weeks have elapsed since death closed our darling's eyes to all save heaven's light, and leaving a saddened hearth, a dreary waste in the hearts of home and friends. Long ere this should my voice have been raised in accents of love; but 'tis ever true that when the "heart is full, the lips are silent." For the two short years and a half that little Edward spent on earth, he was a ray of sunlight shedding warmth and happiness all around. His more than ordinary intelligence, his winning ways, childish prattle, and merry blue eyes, made him a household idol, a pet with all who knew him, and when God deemed it best to call one more angel to paradise, the sunshine of a home was darkened; and though we know and feel that heaven is the brighter for that darkness, still tear drops fall from our eyes in waves that will keep his memory green forever. To you, sorrowing parents, may the heaviness endure but for a night, and a morn of interminable joy follow, may peace and comfort be yours now, and everlasting happiness with him who is now an addition to the brightness of eternity.
