At Bayou Chicot, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Griffith, on June 23, 
1902, Sam Thomas, only child of Mrs. Gracie Thomas, aged about two years.

All that loving hands, medical skill and friends could do to save the little 
child was done, but it was the Almighty's will he should go. We deeply 
sympathize with the sorrowing mother, the aged grand parents and sisters and 
brothers of the weeping mother.

NOTE: Samuel Silas Thomas is buried in the Ferguson Cemetery located in Bayou 
Chicot, Evangeline Parish, LA.
