The funeral cortege left the family residence at 10 o'clock Friday morning for the Catholic church, where the funeral rites were solemnized. Mr. Titard was one of the old land-marks of our town; one of its early citizens. For many years he conducted a bakery business here, and it is said that in his young days he did not consider it much work to bake 600 loaves of bread and peddling them on the streets in a basket he carried on his shoulder, without assisstance. He was struck with paralysis some five years ago, and has lain in bed ever since, suffering agonies. Opelousas loses a good citizen, and his family a kind parent. Additional Comments: NOTE: Pierre Titard is buried in section 2 of the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 95147654 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/t/titard5982gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
