Mr. John R. Todd Dead.

Mr. John R. Todd died at his residence, in Franklin, St. Mary parish, on 
Sunday, June 9, 1907, at 4 o'clock a. m., aged 57 years 1 month and 20 days.

Mr. Todd was the husband of Mary Mayer, daughter of the late Prof. R. Mayer 
and Mrs. Mary Mayer, of Opelousas. Mrs. Mayer and daughters, Missess Edith 
and Hilder, were at his bedside when the end came.

Deceased had been ill for some time, and his death had been momentarily 
expected for some weeks past. He was one of the wealthy and prominent sugar 
planters of St. Mary parish, and was held in high esteem by the entire 
community.
