Veazie one of the best known lawyers in Louisiana, long recognized as a leading criminal attorney, expired, after a long illness, on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Veazie had been a sufferer for sometime and the end, although it came as a shock, was not a surprise. Mr. Veazie, soon after launching in the practice of his profession, attained fame as a criminal lawyer. Throughout Louisiana and in many states of the South, his ability was recognized. During the time that he practiced his profession Mr. Veazie was on every important case tried at the Opelousas bar, and was often called into distant parishes to save someone from and send others to the gallows. The funeral took place from the family residence on Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Services and interment at the Catholic Church and cemetery. Additional Comments: NOTE: Edward P.
