Etienne Veltin, age 68 years. Deceased was a native of France, from the town of Suisse, department of Muselle, Lorraine, and a resident of our parish for many years. He was a gallant soldier in the "Lost Cause," having volunteered in 1861, and was elected lieutenant in Capt. Feray's company, from this parish. His death is universally regretted by all who knew and appreciated his many sterling qualities as a citizen, father and husband. Peace to his ashes.
