Oscar Ventre, a young man of our town, died in Hot Springs, Ark., on Wednesday 
morning, July 18, at 5 o'clock, aged 22 years, 4 months and 23 days. Oscar had 
gone to Hot Springs for his health. He left here with fever, which developed 
after he got there into typhoid, resulting in his death. His body arrived here 
Friday morning, and was interred in the Catholic Cemetery, after the funeral 
rites were solemnized in the Catholic Church, that day.

Oscar Ventre is buried in the St. Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in 
Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, LA.
