Both mules that pulled the wagon were also killed by the same bolt of lightning. A thunder storm was in progress and Mr. Vidrine was driving fast in an endeavor to reach home. The condition of the body indicated that the bolt struck his head. His hat, badly tattered, was found in an adjoining field. The funeral of the dead man was held Wednesday evening at the Grand Prairie cemetery, the Catholic priest of Washington officiating. The deceased leaves a wife and one child besides a large number of relatives. He was well thought of in his home locality and his sudden and unexpected death brings sorrow to many. Several relatives and friends from Opelousas attended the funeral of Mr. Vidrine.
