Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com June 13, 2015, 7:36 pm St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, July 01, 1916, Image 2 HOWARD VIDRINE IS A VICTIM OF TYPHOID Howard Vidrine, 18 years, 7 months of age, died at the home of his father, Ambroise Vidrine, in Plaisance, on last Saturday afternoon, after being ill only a few days with typhoid fever. Young Vidrine fell ill in Opelousas and was carefully attended to by Dr. Shute, but on Thursday of last week Mrs. Vidrine came to town and finding her son apparently well decided to take him back home. On Friday the youth became worse and on Saturday expired. after having fought with the assistance of the doctors, death as hard as possible. Interment took place at the family graveyard at Moundville. Howard is the third of the Vidrine family to die in the last year and a half, one, Marshall, having been killed a few months ago by a negro.
