Eugene Wartelle died at the family residence on last Saturday, June 24 at 
11:30 a. m., aged 23 years; and was buried from the Catholic Church Sunday 
evening at 5 o'clock.

The death of Eugene is a very sad one; he leaves a widowed mother, sisters, 
young brother, and a host of friends. Deceased was a young man well-liked by 
everybody and his death, in the bloom of manhood, was a blow to the family 
and friends.

He had been ill for several weeks with typhoid fever, and lingered between 
life and death for many days, receiving all the medical aid and tender 
nursing possible.

To the bereaved family, we extend our sincere condolence.

NOTE: Eugene Wartelle is buried at the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery 
located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.
