Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com August 2, 2015, 8:51 pm The State-Times (Baton Rouge, LA), Saturday, March 1, 1941 Opelousas, La., March 1 — Funeral services are scheduled to be held this afternoon at four o'clock for Mrs. Ferdinand M. Wartelle, 93, the former Valerie Lastrapes, who died Friday afternoon at ther plantation home, Moundville, near Washington, La. Services will be read at the Washington Catholic church by Father C. J. Cooney and interment will be in Cedar Hill cemetery. Surviving Mrs. Wartelle are seven sons and four daughters, Alf, John, Henry, Phillips, Manning and Louis Wartelle, all of Washington, La., Charles Wartelle of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Culver Quirk, Opelousas, Misses Maude, Aline and Clara Wartelle of Washington. Mrs. Wartelle was an aunt of Clerk of Court Henry Lastrapes of this city.
