(Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, May 01, 1909, Image 1 Shute - Chachere. At the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chachere, in Opelousas, on Thursday, April 29, 1909, Mr. James Shute and Miss Heloise Chachere were married in the presence of relatives and a few friends, Rev. Father Louis Savoure, of Chenal, officiating. The nuptial ceremony was a quiet and unostentatious affair, no cards being issued, and the contracting parties leaving for their Port Barre home shortly after the ceremony. The young people who bound their hearts as one upon this occaion (sic) are popular and esteemed in our community, and the well wishes of the entire city go to them for a happy married life. The groom is the oldest son of the late Dr. I. E. Shute, and a young man of sterling worth a n d (sic) steady habits, while the bride is the lovable and accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chachere, prominent citizens of Opelousas.
