I think first initial is Z, last name is long?] [on the lower left side of the paper is a note I cannot read, and on the lower right side is another note which is lengthy and begins Urria Green is son of Solomon Green and Sarah Elizabeth Hays. in the next line all I can read is Amy widow of Edouard Higginbotham... Raymond.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------- Know all men by these presents that Urria Green as principal and Thelesphore [?] Amy as security both of the State of Louisiana and Parish of St. Landry are held and firmly bound unto Paul C. Hebert governor of the State of Louisiana and to his successors in office in the sum of five hundred Dollars-- for which payment well and truly to be made they bind themselves, their heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally. In testimony whereof they have hereunto signed at Opelousas the 28th day of September A.D. 1855.-- The condition of the above obligation is such that: Whereas the above bound Urria Green has this day obtained license to marry Mrs. Emilia Amy widow of Edouard Higginbotham dec'd also of said Parish-- Now if there should hereafter appear no legal impediment to said marriage, then and in that case the said obligation to be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
