Marriage Notice from The Lafayette Advertiser
April 3, 1869

     MARRIED-At the residence of the bride's father, at Opelousas, on the 18th
of March, 1869, by the Rev. Mr. Wilkinson, Mrs. Minreva [sic] Johns, daughter of
Dr. A. L. Plough, formerly of New Orleans, to Mr. Van B. Vinson, of St. Mary. No
Cards.
     Ah! Friend VAN, you stole a March [?] from us, now that was not fair; but
be it as it will or may; those bottles of champagne went to the health and
prosperity of yourself and bride; in all your enterprises through life, may
success and the smiles of your love ever brighten and lead the Van.
