Lassalle, stood under a lucky star the past week. Not only was he appointed Professor of Physics in the University of the Philippines, but he took with him to his far-away home one of St. Landry's fairest daughters, Miss Aline Josephine Mistric, daughter of Mr. Pierre Mistric. The wedding occurred last Monday, the 20th, at Leonville, and the couple left the same day for San Francisco, from which place they will sail for the Philippines to-day, the 25th. The date of the happy event had not been set, and it is probable that it would not have occurred for some months to come, but the sudden appointment of Prof. Lassalle to a Philippine post hastened the date. The Clarion wishes the young couple unalloyed happiness.
