Stelly (seal) James Ray X his mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Know all men by these presents that Philip Richard fils, Philip Richard pere' and Jean Baptiste Stelly, all of the State of Louisiana and Parish of St. Landry are held and firmly bound unto Thomas Bolling Robertson Governor of the aforesaid State and to his successors in office in the sum of one thousand dollars for the true and faithful payment whereof they and each of them hereby bind themselves their heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents- In testimony whereof they have hereunto signed and affixed their seals at Opelousas this twenty eighth day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty three-- The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Philip Richard fils has this day obtained license to marry Marcelite Stelly - Now if there should be or hereafter appear no legal impediment to the said marriage, then and in that case the above obliga- tion to be null and of no effect, otherwise, to remain in full force and virtue in Law.
