BY VIRTUE of an order of the Hon. the District Court in and for the Parish of St. Landry, will be sold by the undersigned Auctioneer, at McH. Husbands' half- way house, near Mr. C. Hollier's, on the public road from Opelousas to Washington, on Thursday, October 4th, 1865, the following described property belonging to the Succession of the said deceased, to-wit: 14 mules 4 American mares 3 colts 5 creole horses 2 American horses 1 jenny About 30 head (more or less) gentle horned cattle including some fine milch (sic) cows; Lot of agricultural implements A lot of tools Steamboat cable chain 3 carts Steamboat bell A horse cart A lot of household furniture A loom and 2 spinning wheels A buggy and harness A sulky without harness A tarpaulin line and block A double seated buggy A wagon, and other articles too numerous to mention. Terms and Conditions:- All sums of Twenty Dollars and under, cash. All sums above that amount in two equal annual installments, the first payable January 1st, 1867; the second January 1st, 1868, purchasers giving their notes with good security in solido to the order of G. W. Hudspeth, Administrator, payable at the office of John E. King, in Opelousas, and bearing eight percent per annum interest from maturity until paid. Y.
