LOUIS G. BERNARD, JR., ST. MARTINVILLE.--The subject of this sketch is a
native of St. Martin parish.  He is the son of Louis and Elina (Broussard)
Bernard.  Mr. Bernard commenced business as a planter in St. Martin parish. 
He has prospered, and is one of St. Martin's most successful planters and
stock raisers.  Politically he is a democrat, though he is not active in
political affairs.  He and his family are Catholics.
