MARTINVILLE.--The subject of this sketch is a native of France, born in 1837. He emigrated from France in 1839, locating in St. Martin parish, Louisiana, shortly after arriving in the state. When young he learned the trade of carpenter, to which he has given his chief attention for a number of years. Mr. Bellnice was married, in 1871, to Miss Inez Shakesnyder. To this union have been born nine children. Mr. Bellnice is a public-spirited citizen, and is never called on in vain to support laudable enterprises.
