Cleveland Fruge'. ------------------------------- Judge Edward A. delaHoussaye, III of the Sixteenth Judicial District, Division C., was born on May 4, 1930, in Franklin, Louisiana. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. delaHoussaye, Jr., of Franklin, Lou- isiana. Judge delaHoussaye was educated in Franklin elementary, grammar, and high schools, and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, from 1946-1951. He graduated from L.S.U. with a B.S. Degree in Econ- omics and Business Administration. He then attended Tulane University School of Law, in New Orleans, from 1953-1956, and received his LL.B. Degree there, and subsequently obtained the Juris Doctor Degree. In 1969, he was a graduate of the National College of State Trial Judges, Reno, Nevada. Having been admitted to practice before Louisiana Supreme Court on June 12, 1956, and subsequently admitted to practice before U.S. District Courts for Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana, Judge delaHoussaye set up private practice in New Orleans, Louisiana. After approximately two years, Judge delaHoussaye set up practice in Franklin, Louisiana. During this time he was appointed First Assistant District Attorney. His practice ended in 1965 when he was appointed Judge, Division "C", 16th Judicial District, State of Louisiana. He was later elected to this position for a six-year term. His term expires in 1974. Judge delaHoussaye was commissioned Second Lt. from ROTC in June, 1951. He served two years with Office of Special Investigations, U.S.A.F. from 1951 to 1953, Korean War. He was separated with rank of 1st Lt. U.S.A.F. The organizations Judge delaHoussaye belongs to are: Knights of Columbus (3rd and 4th Degree); Belleview Golf and Country Club (Past President); Teche District, Evangeline Area Council (Past Chairman); Boy Scouts of America (Member, Executive Board); Sons of American Revolution; Louisiana State, St. Mary Parish, and American Bar Associations; Democratic Executive Committee for Town of Franklin, La. (Past chairman); Beta Theta Pi Social Fraternity; Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity; Tulane University Law Alumni Association; Moot Court Board, Tulane Law School, and he is presently Vice-President of the Louisiana Council of Juvenile Judges and is a member of the Committee appointed to revise the Juvenile Laws and to draft a Juvenile Code for the State of Louisiana. Judge delaHoussaye is listed in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities", and also in Marquis-"Who's Who in the South and Southwest", Twelfth Edition. Judge delaHoussaye is married to the former Mary Kay Oakley. They were married on December 21, 1957. They have five daughters -- Mary Downs, Jeanne Marie, Heloise Marie, Lisette Anne, and Adrienne Claire. His religious preference is Catholic. His hobbies are golf, hunting and fishing.
