DUCHAMP, CADE.--Mr. Duchamp is a native of the parish and was born in 1863. He is the son of E. A. and Emily Duchamp, natives of New Jersey, but who removed to St. Martin parish early in life. They have reared a large family and now reside in St. Martinville. The subject of our sketch grew to manhood and received his education in St. Martin parish. He has been a planter since he began business, and now owns and controls a fine plantation seven miles west of St. Martinsville, where he cultivates sugar cane. He was married in 1883.
